Students who study Painting and Drawing receive all-inclusive instruction to master the use of charcoal, colored pencil, oil paint, and other mediums.
The painting and drawing curriculum is comprised of six courses that take the student through introductory lessons in composition, working with a model, form, perspective, and structure to advanced mastery of skills in oil painting, drawing, and working with mixed media.
Beginning students draw and paint from observations and tangible inspiration while they start to develop their artistic skills. At this level, students are also introduced to basic art concepts, terminology, and challenges. As visual arts students progress through their course of study, they are encouraged to emphasize their creativity, perspective, and imagination through original pieces.
