The screenwriting course is a 6-week elective open to Literary Arts and Theatre students.
Juniors and seniors may choose to take this Literary Arts course as an elective in which students work to develop a short script for consideration as part of the Annual Festival of New Works program. The course is designed as an introduction to the screenwriting format, craft, and technique, with an emphasis on the fundamentals of narrative storytelling. Students workshop multiple revisions of a short narrative script. The goal is to complete a polished script suitable for screenwriting competitions and production.
The course is co-facilitated by Literary Arts Department Chair, Daniel Gray-Kontar and a professional teaching artist.
