There is a serious but joyous spirit in the work of the vocal students that comes from participating daily in the creation of music that is challenging and exciting. The R. Nathaniel Dett Concert Choir, under the direction of Dr. William Woods, has established itself as one of the finest high school ensembles in the United States. The choir enjoys national recognition and on several occasions, members have been invited to perform abroad.

The Intermediate Concert Choir serves as a training ground for the more advanced group. The mission of both CSA choirs is validated by the devotion to perform music of all styles ranging from classical to spirituals, gospel and modern jazz.
