  2005-2006 Annual Benefit
Many Gifts...Some of Which Are Hidden

Friends of Cleveland School of the Arts produced our annual benefit on May 25, 2006. The event, "Many Gifts... Some of Which are Hidden" Proved to be a riveting and powerful performance. Featuring international composer and Taiko Drum master Eitetsu Hayashi, Many Gifts was a breathtaking fusion of Japanese and American culture, a true collaborative effort.

Highlighted by a magical lighting storm outside of Trinity Cathedral, guest were treated to a production featuring students from the CSA performing and visual arts departments. Many Gifts was a once in a lifetime event. It would not have been possible without the tireless efforts of the Ohio Arts Council and Sally Winters, Arts Midwest, the Japan American Society of Northeast Ohio, Jing Lauengco, Diana Greenberg, and volunteers and financial donors from surround community and Friends.

25 Year Celebration

" I want to thank you all for introducing us to Eitetsu, Makoto and Shuichiro. Never in my life have I ever had so much fun in school. Taiko drumming may have been painful at first but I learned that hard work pays off. Taiko really touched my heart, and I cried the night after it was all over. I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate what you did for us. Please send my thanks to the Ohio Arts Council. Also if you ever communicate with Eitetsu again, please tell him it was an honor to work with him. Thank you so much!" Dominique M. Grade 8
