Photography students work to develop their ability to capture and create strong visual messages through intensive and creative study .
Students who study photography gain skills to masterfully take a picture as well as develop editing techniques through the use of Adobe Photoshop software. The photography curriculum is three-tiered beginning with the basics of composition, subject matter, use of light and development of a point of view and progressing through photo editing, advanced understanding of imagery and photography techniques.
Under the leadership of professional photography teaching artists, students master skills in the above areas while learning methods to create strong visual statements. Students are encouraged to develop their own style and to express their voice through their photographs. Visual Arts students study past and present influential photographers for inspiration and guidance.
